Abby - Monsters (live + acoustic)
Abby, eine Band aus Mannheim (und nicht aus Berlin), ist nicht nur irgendeine x-beliebige Indie band, sondern ein Haufen vollblut Musiker, die ihr Handwerk verstehen und mehr als drei Akkorde drauf haben.
Ich persönlich habe die Jungs bei einem Gig im Berliner Club Brunnen70 kennen und lieben gelernt. Sehr beeindruckend, denn immerhin traut sich nicht jeder in nen Elektro Club unter die Straßen von Wedding (in dem es nichtmal ne richtige Bühne für die Bands gibt)…mit einem Cello unter dem Arm um ein Streichquartett zu imitieren…
Auch schaffen es nur wenige Bands noch vor dem Release ihres ersten Albums eine gehörige Fanbase (auch in Übersee) aufzubauen und auf das SXSW (South by Southwest) festival in Texas eingeladen zu werden. Kudos!
Eine EP namens Welcome Home gibt es schon und das Album ist für “dieses Jahr” geplant. Unbedingt dranbleiben und solange “Monsters” hören!Abby, a band from Mannheim, is not just another random Indie Band. They’re a bunch of musicians who are really good at what they’re doing and who can play more than just three chords.
I got to know them and fell in love with them last year when I saw them playing a gig at a club in Berlin. It was quite impressive since it was an electro club without a proper stage and they had brought a cello as a replacement for a string quartett.
I also think it’s very rare that a band from europe can build a fanbase in North America and get invited to the SXSW festival without even having released an entire album. Kudos!
They already released an EP called Welcome Home and the album is planned to be released “this year”… Stay tuned and listen to “Monsters” in the meantime…
